Martie was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, the third generation in her family to be born in the Sunshine State, making her a true native Floridian. She lived in several Florida cities throughout her early years while her parents were actively involved working in Florida politics and government. She moved to the DC area with her family in the mid-1960s, finishing grade school and high school there. Martie moved to lower Montgomery County as a young adult, where she has now lived for over 30 years.

She received her undergraduate degree, and went on to get her Master's Degree in Social Work, from the University of Maryland. Martie worked for many years in the social work field with families and children, in both school and clinical settings.

Martie and her husband have called Kensington, MD home for?over 25 years. They have been raising their 3 children there, and Martie has been very active in community and school affairs over the years, serving as a PTA president, civic association president, and a volunteer involved with many other local activities and events. She has just finished serving as an elected representative in the Town of Chevy Chase View, serving two terms as a Chevy Chase View Council member.

Martie has been a licensed Realtor since 2002. Her success has come from her abilities to multi-task, great attention to detail, strong listening and people skills, and excellent knowledge of the community.
